Publisher's blindstamped burgundy morocco grain cloth with handsome gilt finch design on upper board, top edge gilt, some light wear and a few spots throughout.

A handsome monograph on finches. The illustrations by Frohawk, particularly those of the Australian finches, are excellent. A second edition with chromolithographed plates and smaller format was published in 1899.
