The Central Asiatic Expeditions, lead by Roy Chapman Andrews, explored the natural history of Mongolia and China in the years 1921 –1930. Field work was conducted in Mongolia during the summers, and in China during the winter months and publication of the entire report was concluded in 1943. The mammal volumes are arguably the most important section.
