Sydney: Coachwood Publishing, 1995. Octavo, photographs, text illustrations, maps, fine copy in dustwrapper.
The Illawarra district of New South Wales contains the most diverse rainforest south of the Hunter Vally. This book describes this unique biological resource and is the culmination of many years of work exploring and writing about the rainforests of the area. The book describes the plants and animals of the rainforests, its distribution and the variation exhibited by the foressts. The original rainforests and the effects of European settlement are described. With about three-quarters of the Illawarra rainforest now destroyed, this book points to new directions in the conservation of the remaining rainforests.
