PROVENANCE: Barron Field arrived as a judge of the Supreme Court of Civil Judicature in New South Wales in Sydney in 1817. His tenure was not without controversy and he left Sydney in 1824. In 1819 he published in Sydney First Fruits of Australian Poetry.
