John Henry Gatliff (1848-1935) emigrated to Geelong with his parents in 1857, he was a very early member of the Field Naturalists' Club of Victoria, collaborated with Charles Gabriel, and was appointed Honorary conchologist at the National Museum of Victoria in 1933. This volume is the complete collection of the 27 papers, some with Gabriel, he wrote.
