The "Disciples edition" of Cuvier's great survey of the animal kingdom. Le règne animal, first published in 1817, was issued in a number of editions, including German and English translations. The "Disciples edition" is by far the best. "The figures printed in beautiful and vivid colours, are drawn by E. Traviès, and engraved by A. Fournier, Guyard, Oudet, and others ..." (Anker).
