| We are Australia's largest natural history specialist bookshop established in 1981, with comprehensive new and secondhand stock and substantial holdings in fine antiquarian natural history. All major natural history subjects are catered for.
While we are able to supply all standard natural history publications we pride ourselves on our ability to source specialised and hard-to-find material world-wide. Our strength in this area is due to our highly specialised knowledge of both the subject matter and the natural history book market. Belinda Isles oversees our bibliographic research and we are constantly researching new material from within Australia and internationally. Andrew Isles devotes much of his time to sourcing quality secondhand and antiquarian natural history material. A number of our titles are suitable for secondary school students. To search for these titles click here to go to Advanced Search. Select the subject and/or region you are interested in and then select Secondary Schools in the STATUS box. This will give you a select number of recommended titles. Lists of suitable titles can also be sent to you by email, just contact us. | There are various ways you can keep up-to-date with new acquisitions to our stock. In addition to browsing our website, you can subscribe to our customised library mailing list service. We also offer regular subject specific email lists and hardcopy catalogues.
- Customised Library Mailing List Service If you would like to be kept up-to-date about recent acquisitions in your area of interest we invite you to join our library mailing list. This service will also keep you informed of special offers available to libraries, news of forthcoming titles, the arrival of the latest volume of important natural history book series and any other information relevant to your library. To subscribe just click here or select Join Our Library Mailing List in the left-hand panel. - Regular Email Lists We also offer regular free email listings of books of new and secondhand material in all major natural history subjects. To subscribe just click here. If you have other interests not covered by our existing email lists let us know and we will keep your interests on file. As a specialist natural history dealer we will do our best to assist with any natural history titles you may require. If you seek individual titles we can backorder your request. Subscribing to our lists is completely confidential and secure. | BACKORDERS | |
| Should we be unable to fill your order immediately, we will backorder new titles and supply immediately we receive them. For secondhand and antiquarian material we will make a note of your interest in a title and offer you first refusal next time a copy becomes available.

| PRICING AND PAYMENT | |
| Our books are priced in Australian Dollars, however we can also accept payment in American Dollars (US$) and UK pounds sterling (GBP).
We are happy to supply libraries and institutions on invoice. Our standard payment terms are 30 days and prompt payment is appreciated. Payment terms can be modified by negotiation. Payment can be made by: - credit card: Visa, Amex, Mastercard and Bankcard; - cheque or money order; - direct deposit into our account. | |
| FREIGHT | |
| We are primarily mail order and as such ship world-wide most days of the week. We employ a near full-time packer and our packing is of the highest quality. We offer efficient and secure delivery of parcels world-wide at reasonable cost to our customers. We also offer a postage consolidation service to minimise postage costs. Under such an arrangement we would process your order as usual and then hold your books awaiting further orders. Your parcel would then be sent once a certain weight or time frame has been reached, 5kg or once a month for example.
For local libraries and institutions that would like to visit our shop, we offer a full shop service. We are open normal business hours and no appointment is necessary. | |
| RETURNS | |
| Libraries and institutions may wish to return a title for any of the following reasons.
- title is not as described; - title has been damaged in transit; - title is defective e.g. misbound or missing pages. Please contact us if you wish to return a title for any of the above reasons. On occasion books may be lost in transit. If you have a concern please contact us as soon as possible. Our packing is of the highest standard and it is rare for transit damage to be attributed to faulty packing. | |
